Home of the Day: July 8, 2011

644 SENECA STREET, PALO ALTO
5 bed / 3 bath / 3,367 square feet

Today was an incredible broker's tour...what a day for Palo Alto properties!  So many incredible new listings and so little time.  Let’s start off with a little touch of luxury.  This property is an stunning example of the Spanish Revival architectural style and was built in 2001.

Stepping into the tranquil courtyard (seen above), you are immediately presented with three different options in terms of living space.  To your right you’ll find a beautifully finished two-bedroom guest house, while to your left you’ll see a garage that has been converted into a fantastic family room.  Straight ahead is the five-bedroom main house.  This multi-structural living set-up manages to be sophisticated, flexible and laid-back at the same time.

The main house features an exceptionally connected floor plan on the first floor…a grand living room is separated from the dining room by a floating staircase.  Upstairs you’ll find a fantastic set-up with three bedrooms.  Two of these (the master and the guest) have private balconies overlooking the backyard.  The master was my favorite and featured a subtle yet luxurious hallway closet to enter the room, which was completed with an entrance to the streamlined bathroom and a cozy window seat overlooking the front courtyard.

Listed by Alain Pinel Realtors for $4,400,000
