Home of the Day: July 6, 2011

104 GREENMEADOW WAY, PALO ALTO
2 bed / 2 bath / 1,131 square feet

There is something about the single-story townhouses located on Greenmeadow Way (the entrance the historic all Eichler Greenmeadow neighborhood) that just projects a sense of tranquility and simple elegance.  The court that holds this unit is shady and covered in trees, and although it is a townhouse the privacy is unrivaled.  It truly does feel like a single family home.

When I first toured this property, one of the unique features that stood out to me (but is not pictured) is the loft over the garage.  The ceilings are high enough and the space large enough that it could be utilized for many different spaces.  Currently it is set up as a "man cave" with plenty of Giants memorabilia, but it could work equally well for a children's play area, a home office or additional storage if you are downsizing from a larger home.

The rest of the unit showed very well.  For a house in this price range, there were many interesting details.  Plantation shutters, wood floors, skylights, two private patios, crown molding, fireplace...all were present and looked to be in good cosmetic shape.  This could be a great unit for many different lifestyles...downsizing, a young couple starting out or a single professional.  Anybody who is looking for a calming ambiance and a simple and clean floor plan would absolutely love this unit.

Listed by Coldwell Banker for $648,000
